The first assignment for How Writer’s Read, a sophomore-level undergraduate class in the Rowan University Writing Arts department, is to take count of all the works you’ve read in your lifetime; this can mean novels, short stories, poetry, plays, anything that had a literary on you as a reader and/or as a writer.
With this in mind, the students are asked to reflect on their lives as readers through five of these works, creating a narrative that demonstrates who they know they are and, perhaps, what they don’t know they are quite yet.
